TAMPERE AND THE REGATTA SITE

Tampere on 200.000 asukkaan teollisuuskaupunki 180 km Helsingistä poihjoiseen. Se on Suomen kolmanneksi suurin kaupunki. Kokonaispinta-ala on 679 km², josta maapinta-alaa 521 km² ja vesipinta-alaa 158 km². Kaupunki sijaitsee suurten vesireittien yhtymäkohdassa.

Tampere is an industrial city of 200.000 inhabitants, 180 km north of Helsinki. It is the third largest city in Finland, the total area being 679 km² (land area 521 km², water area 158 km²). The city is located in the joining point of big water routes.


Kilpailupaikka
The Regatta Site

Kaukajärvi sijaitsee noin 7 km kaupungista itään. Järven suurin leveys on noin 800 m, suurin pituus 3 km ja kokonaispinta-ala 1,5 km². Suurin syvyys on melkein 30m ja keskisyvyys 15 m. – Rata on seisovassa, kirkkaassa, makeassa vedessä. Järvellä ei ole laivaliikennettä.

Lake Kaukajärvi is situated about 7 km east of the city. The largest width of the lake is some  800 m, the largest length 3 km and total area around 1,5 km². The largest depth is nearly 30 m, the average depth being some 15 m. – The lane is in bright sweet water, with no water flow. There is no ship traffic on the lake either.

Vesillelaskua ja maihintuloa varten on Kaukajärven länsipäässä eri laiturit (ratapiirros numerot 2 ja 4).

At the western end of the lake Kaukajärvi there is one platform for the launching and another platform for the landing (plan of the cource, numbers 2 and 4).


Yleisötilat
Areas for the Public

Maalin välittömässä läheisyydessä on istumapaikat noin 550 hengelle ja lisäksi muuta yleisötilaa yli tuhannelle hengelle. Istumakatsomon vieressä on kioski ja wc sekä yleisön että kilpailijoiden käyttöön. Paikoitustilat ovat Kangasalantien pohjoispuolella, missä myös veneiden kuljetuskaluston on oltava kilpailun ajan.

In the immediate vicinity of the goal, there are seats for approx. 550 people amd, in addition to that, other premises for the public with space for over 1,000 people. A kiosk amd restrooms, for both the public and the rowers, are situated close to the spectator stand. The parking lot is to the north of the Kangasala highway where also the boat-transport devices shall be kept throughout the Regatta.
