On behalf of Finnish University Sports Federation, the Finnish Canoeing and Rowing Federation and the organizing Takon Rowing Club we are delighted to invite you to the 2022 Nordic University Rowing Championships on June 18th, 2022 at venue lake Kaukajärvi in Tampere. Finland
The event will coincide with the ordinary Open Nordic Rowing Championship on June 18-19th, hosted by Takon Rowing Club. We are happy to learn about positive growth in University Rowing over the last couple of years in our neighbor countries. We hope this event can bring the Nordic universities rowing clubs closer, and that you will find the regatta interesting. One target will be to reanimate university rowing in Finland as well.
All the rowers of the competing crew must represent a club affiliated with one of the Nordic Student federations. All crew members must be students who are officially registered for and pursuing a course of study at a university, or similar institute with the status as an institution of higher education recognized by the appropriate national authority of their country. Former students of the institutions mentioned above who obtained their academic degree or diploma after January 01, 2021 may also participate. There is no age limit for the competitors. Student ID must be presented on request.
The official Nordic Universities Rowing Championships races will be women’s 8+ and men’s 8+ held on Saturday, June 18th. There are no restrictions concerning the number of boats.
As the University Championship coincide with the ordinary Open Nordic Rowing Championship and 61st International Regatta we also hope you would be interested in competing in the regular regatta as well in one of the other events offered. In the spirit of sports, there will be arranged a social event with Dinner after Saturday’s races which will take place at Takon Soutajat Club house, close to the Tampere City Centre. The Dinner will be a casual barbeque and hang-out event.
